TF2 has around 6K active players with 40k idling bots, CSGO and DOTA have 200k+ each, Plus HL:VR.

They decided TF2 isn't worth the effort anymore.

it's already kinda built up to as much as it can be, and it's a damn great game. The only unfortunate aspect of this is the nearly tautological effect of this kind of news being translated as "tf2 is dead", and then people treating it as dead because of that, which is what actually causes it to die, or at least be severely reduced in population.

I hate how the cycle nowadays tries to herd whole playerbases to new things, even if the old thing was great, or better. TF2 is a beautiful game, and I hope it doesn't go ignored for lack of press.
