New cars have too many features that bloat the price now imo

Used is the way to go honestly

Even used cars can get expensive now. Plus the used market took a huge hit from cash for clunkers iirc

What does "typically-priced" mean? I agree that a lot of cars are way more expensive than they should be but to me the bigger problem is people are dumb and buy cars they can't afford.

Car prices have inflated Luke's crazy the past decade. Car commercials just a decade ago for cars had base models at like 13k-18k. Now everything is over 20k.

Maybe car manufacturers should make a lower priced car?

I don't like this video. Like yes, new cars are expensive. Especially SUVs and trucks.

But ya, it's true. SUVs and trucks are hella expensive, but that's what people seem to want these days

I have no interest an SUV or truck thankfully. Too big for me

It's not. 40k is the bare minimum for independent survival. Anything below that is poverty and just a paycheck to paycheck fight to survive

The video claims there's a "rising cost of cars" because people are spending more on cars... compared to 2009. When unemployment was 10%. No shit people spend more when we're not in the worst recession in decades.

In reality the price of cars has fallen while wages have risen. The lengths people have to go to just to pretend middle-class Americans of all people have it tough is insane. Sorry you can't sink $800 a month into a 2019 model, let me play you the world's smallest violin.

The funny thing is cars and car ownership costs in the US historically have been disproportionately cheap due to various factors. I think its just that with production facilities moving abroad and exchange rates, the times of heavily subsidised cars/local manufacturer incentives is in the past.

are you implying globalization increased the cost of cars?

i don't know where anyone gets the idea that cars have increased in price
