Last two weddings I went to didnt have anything to do with Christianity. One of my uncles had a fairly Christian wedding. My roommate wants to have a quick/easy one and his parents want a Christian mass.

Its like you dont know what youre talking about. Yes, some people want it to be a Christian institution. But just because they want that, doesnt mean it is one.

I could care less either way. I would prefer if my kids turn out straight however. And its not for the reasons you want to think. I see too many youths bullied, beaten and even killed for coming out in highschool and even some in middle school.

And id rather not have to go to prison for pummeling a homophobe if I had to protect my family. -shrug-

I see no reason to oppose it.

Even if you're insisting you're neutral because you don't give a fuck, that's "support" in the sense that you have no reason to oppose it still.

It's like people who play fantasy football to me. I don't care. At all. So I have no issue with people playing it. Why should I?

Yeah not what I said. I didnt comment on people trying to get equal rights. Im responding to the topic. And if two men or women want to get married, I dont care. Its doesnt bother me. Dont twist words. Its then that shit happens that things begins to get words twisted. Im not here to throw up and put my lgtbq t shirt on or throw my Facebook to a rainbow flag icon. I support anyones decision to marry whoever they want.

Thats good. And thats very different from saying you could care less either way. Even if you meant it as I dont personally care if some strangers gets married regardless of gender/orientation, it sounds really callous or borderline dog whistling when the topic being discussed is whether you support a marginalized groups equal rights.

I'm gay and see no issue with people choosing to get married.

I just would not recommend it to anyone living in the west in this present decade.
Today's abysmal marriage/divorce rates among hetero couples is not a great selling point; it's more of a cautionary tale.
And modern cohabitation can provide most of the same benefits now without the unnecessary government involvement butting in.

If anything, us gays cohabitate just fine and have much less incentive to bother getting married. Or should I say getting stuck in the same cultural trap...
