but then when Angela had her last conversation with Trieu I started to think oh fuck, this is happening and then it did and I think Im on board ?

I have enough faith in this show at this point to believe it will all make sense, but its going to take a little justifying for
1. Why he decided to pose as a normal human again and
2. why next episode he doesnt just immediately turn every Rorschach mask guy to dust.

I wonder if its like oh his powers were locked away and they need some time to come back or it turns out that the process that made him Dr. Manhattan isnt permanent and his powers started to fade over time or a third thing ????

Pretty sure that thing Angela dug out was some king of inhibitor of some heavy metal type that won't just pass through his system. Heck, I'm not sure it can. Certain heavy metals are almost impossible to remove from the body. I don't know how many eps remain but I'm pretty sure she has to protect him at least until the end of the season.

I finally caught up and while I'm still pretty skeptical of some of the stuff in comparison to the original comic, it is one hell of a wild ride

Oh, agree. They've changed things believed to be canon for sure, but it's still really good. Be forewarned, some Peteypedia entries are quite dry. His analysis of the in-show bio show of the Minutemen is pretty pedantic, though I guess that should be expected for the character.

Pretty good ending to a show that I think mostly stuck the landing on the things it was trying to do! I actually really hope it does NOT get another season because it feels sufficiently self contained

I doubt they end it there. There are just too many loose threads. If they wanted to end it in one go they'd have had one more episode to wrap things up. But really, I think in the next season we see Angela not walk on water but, in time, seems to gain powers slowly. Adrian goes on trial and, being him, he beats the charges. And a few new threads get woven through. Heck, we've yet to see Dan/Nite Owl II. They could end it there, but I doubt it.

I'm sure they could find a better way to do it than I could think of in a couple minutes at 4am, but I definitely can't see a man smart enough to fool Dr. Manhattan lose to a mere mortal justice system. And that egg, sort of a Checkov's Gun, right?
