When I got sick I actually thought that the stuff I was seeing was the 'real' world and I had always been oblivious to it. Doctors usually go out of their way to assure the patient that that is not in fact the case.

A lot of what we believe is narrative constuct. Money isn't real, it just works because we believe in it.

I know to other people in the same boat here but their experiences may be different from mine so I won't drag them in here, but if they're reading this please chime in. >_> --- "Why is ontology so expensive?" - JH [Is this live?][Joyless planet...] ... Copied to Clipboard!

No. Even asking a single schizophrenic about his delusions and you'll get contradicting information, asking several and they'll obviously contradict each other. A lot of delusions are fueled by how people view themselves, they put themselves at the center of some narrative and everything around them means something. In other cultures, schizophrenia manifests differently because their society has different expectations.

No. My ex fiance's mom was schizophrenic, she would have bizarre delusions then blame people in the household for off the wall things.

I dont think every schizophrenic experiences the same thing, either. You are right though, it's pretty hard to explain what exactly obtains for a schizophrenic. --- "Why is ontology so expensive?" - JH [Is this live?][Joyless planet...] ... Copied to Clipboard!

I read something once that said up to half the people a schizophrenic thinks they know may not actually exist.
