Its so full of holes I dont know why people didnt quit parroting it centuries ago. Just off the top of my head while I stand in this fast food line,
  1. It neglects that there are several gods who supposedly send nonbelievers to their hell equivalent, yet only presents the Christian one as a credible threat
  2. If somebody was only believing in God as a fire insurance policy, an all-knowing god would see right through it
  3. You can go through the motions of a belief, but you cant voluntarily believe something without evidence
  4. It does nothing to prove the supposed threat in the first place, its just a flimsy scare tactic.

It also assumes that no god exists that double- punishes you for actively worshipping another god, which adds no "cost" to picking wrong over not picking at all.

Which god though? When no one can prove a god, how can we even know what a god wants? If a god exists, every single religion in history can still be wrong. There are a billion things the theoretical real god could be or want. How can anyone hope to make an educated guess on something unknowable?

I didn't claim otherwise. How is that relevant to this topic anyway?

If I told you to sincerely believe that behind this keyboard I'm a purple elephant, and I'll torture you forever if you fail to believe me, would you sincerely believe I was a purple elephant? Even if you did, the mere fact that someone can hold a position without evidence doesn't make it a good idea to do so.

And yet, Christians generally seem to believe Muslims are going to Hell, and vice versa.

I should drink too tho

Not saying you're opposed, just using your post as a jumping off point. And somehow someone will call me an edge lord for applying logic to religion or not giving Abrahamic religions special treatment.

I find world religions to be extremely interesting. I love that history shit I just don't understand what makes the Greeks more wrong and stupid than a modern Chrstian or Muslim.

Believing in God is not enough to go to heaven tbh. It sounds like it's based on the Protestant idea that you just need faith in Jesus to be saved and that's it.

Pascal's wager doesn't even fit in the basic tenet of Christianity that requires a belief and genuine acceptance of Jesus.
