Those have been around forever. I have one from when I was a kid (shaped like an N64 controller with a Genesis-style second controller). They usually only have about 20 games tops on them, and the other 580 entries are the same games listed over and over again. Usually the emulation is of subpar quality too. Check out Vinesauce's Plug-and-Plague series on Youtube sometime. He has a mix of those and shitty original games.

These have been a thing since the mid to late 2000s. I remember someone in my high school theater group had one and thought it was the most amazing thing ever but I thought the vcd emulation looked like shit on TV and preferred a computer monitor.

If they aren't expensive, pick one up for yourself or a gag gift. Some of the shovelware games on one a friend had were hilarious and awful, including demaster ports of games from snes through PlayStation.
