Trash tier weather, its hot, humid, thunderstorms all the time, tornadoes
There are alot of trashy people here. I mean people complain about homeless in liberal states, but there is FAR more volume of trash people that trash up the south compared to homeless people of whom 90% are nice people.
There are trash tier food options. BBQ is the only good quality food you'll get. Everything else is just double deep fried. I mean I'm not saying its not good but theres a certain art of cooking where you can make things taste amazing without deep frying everything. But ethic food is absolute bottom tier quality here.
Bugs, lots of insects and critters.
Trash tier drivers. I have seen the absolute worst drivers here in the south. Car insurance rates are higher here than anywhere in the country.
Shitty customer service. For as nice as "southern hospitality" is...its all fake and full of shit cuz people just turn around and talk shit behind your back. And that hospitality only exists between certain people. But overall customer service is trash. If you go to NY or california, you'll get WAY better quality of customer service at restaurants. The only place where customer service has been genuinely amazing here in the south is Home depot and lowes. Those are honest people who know what they're doing and they aren't just tryna sell you products. Thats rare though. My landlord pointed me to an "internet guy" who got all butthurt that I set up internet through the company directly and tried to convince me to do it through him cuz he only makes commission. Then he tried hustling me into a plan that didn't make any sense.
Theres nothing to do out here. No wonder everyones only hobby is deer hunting cuz theres no good lakes for boating that aren't filled with pests, theres no good mountains for hiking, nothing compared to california at least. Theres no winter sports. Theres no beach. Theres no ocean. Just fucking swamps.

Why in the fuck would anyone want to live here?

If ur only goal in life is to have shelter and eat food then sure. If you enjoy anything other than deer hunting, farming, and ranching, then its a waste of life to live there.

Roaches exist up north even past maine. You just get more of the German variety as opposed to American/Smokey Brown. Basically the smaller roaches than the bigger. Note that the smaller variety (germans) are harder to get rid of.

No I live in rural part of Oregon, no cockroaches, no snakes, no humid weather. Crazy spiders. Fuck all that.

He's sorta right though. Altho some states in the north from my experience aren't much different depending on which part you live in.

I have literally lived in the northeast, southwest, west, and now southeast. I literally live here now. So I know exactly what its like. So people can't even tell me I'm wrong cuz I actually live here and these are all my observations.
