Anyway, I asked him about it, & that's when he layed it on me. He's 5'7 in height, and as a kid he wanted nothing more than to play basketball professionally. (He's also had issues with the way he looks, as he isn't the most attractive, but I already knew that) He's actually pretty good btw, which probably hurts him even more so Every since that convo, everytime I do something i'm passionate in, I can't help but think what it would be like If I couldn't participate due to genetic factors/mental factors that are out of my control Hell, same could be said with looks. Some people like certain height, as well as some people are just born with a... 'disadvantaged' face, or a unfortunate mental condition. It really does suck when you are unwillingly bought into a world, find something or someONE you have a passion for, just so you can fail due to shit you can't control Have you guys or someone you know, ever realized you wouldn't be able to do/participate in something you love, due to genetic and or mental factors you have no control over? --- So THIS is how you make a signature.. ... I picked the first option. The 2nd with the context of being here while being asked, makes me feel like it's the whiney option. People here say life isn't fair because they make no effort and things don't just fall into their lap.

Just be glad he has his legs? You sound like someone who'd tell someone there are staving kids in Africa if they said they were hungry. No. I hate people who play suffering bingo or whatever it's called. All I am saying is that there is nothing wrong with being 5'7. You have no health problems whatsoever. You should have few difficulties in life due to being that height. Yes, you are at an disadvantage compared to taller players, but it is far from impossible. If both his legs work and he had no health problems then it is possible for him to join the NBA (It won't be easy obviously). Compare that to any kid who dreamt about joining the NBA... but was born with only one leg. Your dream is dead on arrival. There are players shorter than 5'7 in the NBA, aren't they? You may be at a disadvantage, but at least you have a fucking chance. We all have difficulties in life. I don't deny that. I also don't deny that we all tackle our issues differently. --- This is a mobile account, forgive any errors. ~DYL~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTEX3YdEi7s ... Copied to Clipboard!

I have trouble with this sometimes. I try to stay positive. I understand on a fundamental level that giving up doesn't solve anything. But then I get those episodes where I... well not "break down" but all the motivation leaves all St once and it's an absolute bitch to make myself snap our of it. I have trouble with this sometimes. I try to stay positive. I understand on a fundamental level that giving up doesn't solve anything. I don't mind when others vent to me or anything. I just always liked to approach my problems with humor. So when I voice problems with others, Im usually throwing self deprecating jokes in. I do it here constantly. I also usually only bring up "woe is me" stuff if it's mutual and I think someone might benefit off my take. Like I said tho, my lack of being physically helpful, makes me try extra hard at being helpful to people mentally. Yeah genetics for sure can play a big part. Even if I trained as hard as I could I could never match Usain Bolt in his prime if even in his retirement because he's got such a gifted body for that. However I can still do my best with what I have and become my best self at something I'm passionate about.
Even if you don't have good legs you can find something else to do. It's like dating. It sucks when you break up with the supposedly perfect woman(in this case, a Hobby) but you have plenty of time and chances to find a new passion. Basically what I'm saying is, do the best with what you got and improve what you got is the ultimate moral of this topic. Amen. --- nonononononononononononnonononoknownononono ...
