So is a lethal injection, and you don't have to chop a motherfucker's head off.

When a person can be injected and take thirty minutes to die, it absolutely is not quick, easy, or painless

decapitation isnt painless
the head lives for about a minute after its removed so you now have a huge pain in your neck where your body was was
and plus you fall down onto the group or into a bucket without any hands to protect your face with which would hurt

Yeah and they can be in a ton of pain while that is happening. The point of lethal injection is to be easier on the executioner.

The brain is going to continue to have electrical activity and remain aware for a good fifteen to twenty seconds at least after the blood supply is cut off* when you are decapitated. Imagine the horror of being aware you have been separated from the rest of your body, you desperately send a signal to try and take a breath but your chest muscles and lungs aren't there anymore.

Pretty sure they done old experiments where they asked some people at the guillotine to blink a pattern if they were still aware immediately after and they were able to do it.

I think I'll take another method please

*think of a blood-choke in the ufc, once it's in deep you're lucky you have twenty seconds to escape before you pass out.

From Wikipedia:

Decapitation is quickly fatal to humans and most animals. Unconsciousness occurs within 10 seconds without circulating oxygenated blood (brain ischemia). Cell death and irreversible brain damage occurs after 36 minutes with no oxygen, due to excitotoxicity. Some anecdotes suggest more extended persistence of human consciousness after decapitation,[16] but most doctors consider this unlikely and consider such accounts to be misapprehensions of reflexive twitching rather than deliberate movement, since deprivation of oxygen must cause nearly immediate coma and death ("[Consciousness is] probably lost within 23 seconds, due to a rapid fall of intracranial perfusion of blood.").[17] A laboratory study testing for humane methods of euthanasia in awake animals used EEG monitoring to measure the time duration following decapitation for rats to become fully unconscious, unable to perceive distress and pain. It was estimated that this point was reached within 3 4 seconds, correlating closely with results found in other studies on rodents (2.7 seconds, and 3 6 seconds).[18][19][20] The same study also suggested that the massive wave which can be recorded by EEG monitoring approximately one minute after decapitation ultimately reflects brain death. Other studies indicate that electrical activity in the brain has been demonstrated to persist for 13 to 14 seconds following decapitation (although it is disputed as to whether such activity implies that pain is perceived),[21] and a 2010 study reported that decapitation of rats generated responses in EEG indices over a period of 10 seconds that have been linked to nociception across a number of dierent species of animals, including rats.[22]

So do it when they are anesthetized. No one is capable of feeling pain when absolutely numbed and unconscious.

look, decapitation is messy

opiate or barbiturate overdose is probably the most humane form of euthanasia since it induces immediate unconsciousness and doesn't involve blood and guts

It is more humane than lethal injection or the chair.

Firing squad is more humane, but it's messy.

i actually view that as a bonus it should be messy if you really are going to execute some one it should not be made easy on you

im not against the death penalty but think it should be reserved for extreme cases

and it being messy means the ones who do it dont get to sleep easy as taking a life should not be easy (helps prevent handing it out casually)

but thats just my view on messy for this kind of thing

no

there is nothing humane about the electric chair, it's basically gambling that you'll be wired up correctly and that you'll be fed enough juice on the initial shock to induce unconsciousness. there are some real horror stories of the chair gone wrong

plus it's just gruesome

Yeah strapping someone to a chair and flicking a big switch to start passing an electrical current through them in order to kill them while they suffer involuntary muscle movements and convulsions is not remotely humane.

I'll take a bullet or two to the head than getting my head chopped off or lethal injection. Yeah, people have survived headshots, but I'd rather take those chances than the other options. Make it a .45 or something and I think you would be good.
