It's called protection for one thing. Try working as a framer during the winter months.

That's wrong. Slacks are very comfortable to wear. Typically light fabric and breathable. If you are talking about a three piece suit, then perhaps I agree with you, but wearing a suit is also pretty comfy and makes me feel like a boss.

Slacks, shirt, and ties are about the least comfortable things to wear.

If you think Jeans are less comfortable than that then your jeans are too tight
