I don't get why people say *all* the prequels suck. Sure the first two do, but RotS is great. Is it just because it's lumped in with the other two that people say it sucks as well?

Anakin v. Obi Wan brought a tear to my eye the last time I watched it. Some people say that fight was too "extra" but whatever. I liked it. It was supposed to be the last Star Wars movie ever, so everyone was expecting an epic light saber battle with the best choreography and visual effects. It achieved just that.

It's the only movie from the prequels I'd put on par with the OT. It still has issues, but it was clear that Lucas was learning from fan feedback as he went (Jar Jar has 0 spoken lines in RotS). Palpatine and Anakin's relationship in RotS really should have been more of a feature in TPM and AotC, too. It added a lot of depth to Anakin's struggle when he had someone actively whispering contradictions into his ear to tempt him away from the Jedi.

I've always like Episode III. Still some bad dialogue but nothing compared to I & II.

My favorite Star Wars movies are RotJ and RotS. I don't feel bad about it.

Revenge of the Sith is better than Clones if for no other reason than people talk less than in the other two. It's basically greenscreens: the movie and every other scene is a unfollowable nonsensical action seqence but the spectacle of people doing three thousand flips and twirling laser swords while riding motorcycles is immensely more tolerant than anyone in these movies speaking. It's still really really awful though, everyone is still acting on the caliber of daytime soap opera people and the dramatic stuff is just as bad as AotC if not worse. People are way too nice to this one because Phantom and Clones were so utterly in your face atrocious, but I really think the badness level is a lot closer to them than people think and the miniscule amount of highlights in it only elevates it about a step

Guy basically took the words right out of my mouth regarding Hayden Christensen. Starts at the 7:20 mark in that video if anyone is interested.

Although, I was specifically talking about ep.3 when I said he did a good job. He was definitely not great in ep.2. But in the case of both movies, I have always maintained that shitty writing was the root cause of the poor acting.

And it sucks that the poor writing and directing of Star Wars ruined a potentially decent actor's career.

Edit: Aaaaah he's talking about Ewan McGregor now! Sometimes I feel like he must be the greatest actor of all time. Even Lucas's shitty writing and directing could not hope to scathe McGregor's brilliant performance as Obi Wan!
