In my country servicemen are always present and they pump the cars.

I've never done it before and I don't know if there's some kind of expertise needed to operate the pump.

If it's just us, I usually let her do everything. If we have the kids with us, one goes in to pay the other pumps.

Its regarded as a gentlemanly thing to do, like opening a car door or pulling out a chair for women

Man, the results and posts in this topic are fascinating.

In my facebook singles group, based in Houston, Texas, USA, they are all about this stuff. If this poll was presented to them itd be like 99% man pumping. It's like a huge fucking deal to these guys. The women too. And they dont just do it for girlfriends, but any women, like if it's just a friend or sister or something, the man pumps.

One guy even made a post about how he wanted to throat punch a guy he saw sitting inside a car while the girl pumped, and dudes in the thread were like right on bro, I'd want to throat punch him also. And the women are all in on it too. They expect men to do all that old school chivalry stuff.

Its fascinating how cultures can be so different even in the same country.

I can't envision a scenario in which I'd be the passenger with my wife (or in this scenario gf). She scares the hell out off me when she drives. Tried it before and the entire ride I was slamming my foot on my imaginary brake.

She can pump her own gas, because I'm paralyzed with fear with a death grip on the arm rest.
