I gave it a 4/5. I've learned to go off the audience score. Anyone who rates a movie on Rotten Tomatoes probably cares enough about movies to be a decent critic themselves. More scores means a better average...plus they take a true average for the audience. With the critics, the percentage is tallied merely by taking the percentage of tomatoes. It's like the least scientific way to get a score.

I thought it was phenomenal, and frankly after reading the professional reviews I feel like they understand nothing about what made the original trilogy great.

The conjunction of the low critic score and the high audience score makes me think that this movie has a lot of crowd-pleasing shit in it, and that the quality of The Last Jedi was never really what that movie's low audience score was about. Because this movie sounds like a disaster, but apparently people like it. To contrast this, though, on IMDb the movie has a score of 6.9, which I believe is the lowest for the Star Wars movies except for maybe the prequels, and slightly lower indeed in The Last Jedi. As I'm on my phone, I cannot look at the more nuanced stats of the IMDb score. I guess time will tell how the scores pan out. After all it's only been a day.
