Also to note that Spielberg, Lucas and Kennedy are very old friends and none of them have really done anything that great in the past decade. She wasn't that with those films I believe. I feel like Kennedy gets too much crap from one side of this and gets way too little crap from the other side. I think the problem people have is that they believe Kennedy had the power to stop a lot of these problems, and her track record makes it seem like she should have known to stop these problems from happening. But if you were going to have jj do 2 films have someone who fits his style do episode 8. While episode 8 is my favorite movie of the trilogy judging on an individual level. Its the worse of the trilogy since jj didnt want to use what rian set up. ~~rey not being born into a bloodline to be powerful. Luke's sacrifice being the spark that ignites the rebellion. The point is that she is the president of Lucasfilm, and till Solo, there's been a really hands off approach by the Disney higher ups. Everything goes through her for SW. Like with the MCU, Kevin Feige gets the credit and everything goes by him, because he's the president of Marvel Studios. He gets everybody to work together and weaves the structure. Sean Bailey gets shit for all the garbage live action Disney films we've gotten in the past decade because he's the president of Walt Disney Pictures. Likewise, Edwin Catmull was highly praised as president of Walt Disney Animation/Pixar for almost 3 decades of hits. Jim Morris replaced him a few months ago and who knows how he leads things. All 4 report to Alan Horn, who reports to Bob Iger. But for the most part, they have a lot of independence. The only actual involvement by them stated publicly is getting Kevin Feige to cross over into Lucasfilm to make a SW. Considering how fucking busy the guy is with the MCU, it seems like a desperate and kind of condescending move. It worked with the OT, because as goofy as Lucas got later on, him being there was the glue for that trilogy. He knew what worked lorewise, and his co directors and long timers like Guinness and Cushing gave industry advice that made those movies flow. An absurd number of directors have been fired and there have been more cancelled movies than there have been released. That's a problem and Kennedy is the common factor. Should have Mara Jade and Finn, and then have Poe not even exist. Then Kylo vs. Mara be cousins fighting.
