The PS4 version is a Beta, it's not the full game. You pretty much play it on Switch or don't play it. I say that as someone who has never once chosen Switch for any other multiplatform release ever.

you should get dq11 on any platform you have because it's an incredible game

but if you have the means, the most worthwhile versions are the switch and 3ds releases (3DS because it runs the stylized 3D graphics like DQ8 alongside the 2D version at the same time)

oh! huh. well that's about as far i got in my replay before square announced this switch version so i dropped it

i do think it's better than either the ps4 or pc release (i think the old 3d looks better than the new 3d), though it does come with certain hurdles (you need to understand japanese! and own a japanese or hacked 3ds!). switch version is definitely a step ahead of everything

Yeah, I'd have to say the 3DS version is the worst as an English speaker. Even if someone hacked the game to put the English script in, that's still way more work to set up than the other versions.

Doing the Tockle quests in 2D mode just makes me so glad the battle system changed so everyone moves as their turn comes up.

The PS4/PC version is absolutely a fully-featured game, it's just that the Switch version adds a whole bunch of content.

Tons of new content, extra story, extra characters, better balance, a real soundtrack, and a bunch of other little tidbits and refinements.

And it all came out one year later..

As someone who beat that game right before they started showing off S, I feel like I wasted my time and was cheated. I regret playing it in the first place. It's a sour stain on that game's name that I doubt I will ever actually get over.

There aren't extra playable characters, no. That was an error in one review, possibly from someone who hadn't played past Act 1 of the PS4 version

She technically already existed in the 3DS version, even, but she got a new look designed by Toriyama. Not sure why since she's literally just a person you talk to to go to sleep but he did it
