They're all so boring and inconsequential. Like that ROS intro one

Also I know it's not a cgi scene I just mean that it's such a good practical scene that cgi scenes subsequent to it seem weightless and boring

My fiance refused to watch Fury Road because she thought it was just a dumb action movie. I watched it on a plane, and she looked over and got sucked in and asked to watch it, lol

Yeah its pretty awesome. I never actually saw it in theaters though which is dumb. But I did watch it in a fake 3d theater on my psvr. If you change your country to China there is an app with a bunch of free 3d movies that is pretty cool.

This topic isn't about the otherwise excellent movie, just a statement on the futility of cgi chase sequences

The cool thing about CGI is, when done well, no one notices it. For instance, the whole chase sequence that spans Fury Road is filled with CGI.

First of all you only really know it's CGI because it was non-existent technology on a landscape that doesn't exist.

Secondly there's a lot of that Chase scene that actually isn't CGI at all. There's production videos of live shots and it's kind of ridiculous how much of it was actually real.

Most of that 'non-existent technology' is actually practical. The stunts (a good chunk of the characters are in front of a green screen) and a lot of the visuals outside of the structures and cars are CGI. That doesn't take away from how great the movie is imo, I personally think it makes it better and refreshing to see CGI done well.

By non existent technology I meant shit they made exclusively for the movie like the huge water pump system from the beginning. We could build something like that if we wanted to but there's no point. A lot of the vehicles and shit were real.

Yeah the vehicles for the most part were real but the people hanging off of them, a lot of the stunts, and a good majority of the environment were CGI. The use of CGI benefited from the movie's environment and look. Fury Road blended practical and CGI effects perfectly.

I dont particularly care whos playing the role and couldnt care less about Mel Gibson. But all the insults really make your case for why Furry Road was such a great film.
