Ok have fun beating those war drums just to feel smart, thats definitely healthy

Stating the obvious fact that Iran carried out these attacks before this happened, and they would have continued to do so even if Soleimani wasn't killed isn't "beating the war drums". Neither is calling out your hypocrisy in pretending the lives lost in future attacks are for some reason more valuable than the lives lost in past attacks, and then claiming other people are "downplaying terrorist attacks".

You have a long history of doubling down on dumb things you say instead of just admitting you were wrong. It's fine that you weren't totally informed on Iran, just move past it.

"It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliance with any portion of the foreign world": it was George Washington's Farewell Address to us. The inaugural pledge of Thomas Jefferson was no less clear: "Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations-entangling alliances with none."

Imagine if we would have been attacked like 9/11 and Trump ignored the intel. Imagine the shit storm hed be under right now. If he didnt feel a threat was imminent then he wouldnt have OKd the strike. Trust our intelligence community. Lives were probably saved and Im all good with that. I hate Trump and want him out of office myself but sometimes you just have to do shit to protect people and I feel from what Ive seen and heard, it did just that.

If Pence was a mass murdering psychopath like Soleimani was, I wouldn't miss him one bit. I also guarantee there are many Iranians thrilled that he is gone but too afraid of the next murdering psychopath that takes over the position to celebrate publicly.

no one is upset about this out of sympathy or sadness for soleimani

It's amazing how mad these people get even when Trump does something great like take out an active terrorist. Literally deranged.

He's saying yesterday you weren't concerned with terrorism coming from Iran. But Iran was still sponsoring terrorism, and the intelligence community have been saying this for the last 40+ years. They used to jack our planes like a motherfucker, and it is probably why 9/11 happened, because we didn't think they were gonna weaponize the planes, we thought they probably just wanted one of their asshole buddies out of prison.

But today the Orange Man blew one of their leaders up, a piece of shit mind you (that commanded pedo soldiers), and now you're up in arms about it.

I'm pretty sure he understands what I'm saying perfectly, he just didn't know what the Quds Force was but gave his opinion anyway and now feels a little embarrassed.

"It's not retaliation if you were planning the attack anyway" is a pretty simple statement, even he isn't that obtuse. Like I said, he has a history of this and would save a lot of energy if he just stopped digging all the time.

Iran carries out attacks no matter what. They have been doing this for decades, that is literally what the Quds Force is.

You don't know what retaliation means.

By all accounts? You mean the New York Times' anonymous source? Because the official position of the United States is that he was actively planning further attacks on Americans. So hard to believe that the leader of the Quds forces would be doing so.

By all accounts my ass. Your evidence against it is as thin as refusing to believe anything that the United States government says just because it's the government that said it.

You can't kill soldiers and attack embassies of the world's most powerful country and not expect them to react by killing your military leader in charge of planning attacks. By your own logic it's the Iranians that forced us to escalate.

Ah yes, Iran forced us to go to war. The narrative is complete. The same rhetoric we heard for Afghanistan and Iraq.

Iran notably attacks first, we retaliate, they become increasingly hostile and violently protest at an American embassy, we take out their leader with Intel he would plan more attacks.

Seems like Iran lit the fuse tbh.

Iran is the main player in fucking shit up in the ME and people act like they are saints because they faught ISIS. Like they aren't funding Hezbollah and would have funded ISIS if they had played ball with Iran instead of bucking. Oh poor innocent Iran would never hurt a fly and the big bad US hurt them for no reason!

Yeah the General was using a lot of confusion, and he was damn well good at it.

Also keep in mind some Iranian citizens really didn't like him for the massacres.

Ok, so what exactly do we do?

We were attacked without provocation and we're worried about retaliation?

Do we sit on our hands and allow further attacks to happen and just say, "fuck it nothing we can do because we dont want retaliation."

This stance is absofuckinglutely absurd.

Yes excuse me for looking at all the reports that they told literally no one else they were going to do it except for like Lindsey fucking Graham of all people being told personally by Trump while they were golfing at fucking Mar-a-lago together.

Because if they had actually told anyone else they'd have been told to show the evidence, which (surprise!) still hasn't been produced either.

Looking at the picture in the tweet, it always blows my mind how our military is just kind of in other countries. Imagine if foreign military bases were in the US and APCs were just rolling around. We should not have a presence like that
