I thought we were supposed to let everyone be how they feel inside or we are bigots, but apparently if someone feels like a black woman or an Asian inside they are appropriating or a weeb?

Can we get a consistent ruling or is it just how the hive feels on an issue by issue basis?

Ive never seen twitter so mad about Kim Kardashian an ethnic ARMENIAN(meaning naturally slightly darker than average caucasians) getting a tan and doing a model shoot.

She was accused of black-baiting, blackface, appropriation.

One person even said we should cancel Kim K for appropriation like we did JK Rowling for transphobia.

The pronouns I dont really care about if I can remember them.

Ive had coworkers who were obvious transwomen but also equally obviously presenting as woman so it wasnt difficult, but then you have these people that demand you call them they like they are the most special little snowflake in the whole kingdom and I have to specifically remember their preferred pronoun while the person presents as a male wearing dark lipstick and a nose ring.

Not to mention for the first 20 or so years of my life they was a pronoun that referred to a plural or unknown gender, not a singular and now unlearning this to appease Twitter warriors is exhausting, if they make another pronoun Im done.

But such is 2020.

One is a lot more quiet in their beliefs, and it's not all over the news. Here's the thing too; it feels like my state of NY and California are in a competitive to see who can be the most liberal. No matter who wins, we all lose

Exactly, I have always been a centrist the only difference is 10 years ago I was left leaning because the far right was more intrusive on basic social freedoms with their bible thumping.

Somehow in the last 4-5 years Ive become a right leaning centrist because the left has taken over and become just as if not more intrusive than the right used to be.

Honestly the pronoun bit has always confused the hell out of me. Many trans people go to incredible lengths to appear as the gender they identify as and yet they also don't want people to assume they are a given gender? Like what is the point if the change isn't enough that people can safely assume they are the gender they feel they actually are? Beyond that it's plain common sense that the majority of "cis" people don't care if you assume their gender/pronouns as long as you get it right which is easy 99.9% of the time, so asking someone what their pronouns are is just pointing them out as trans or whatever and basically telling them you can't tell what they're going for. Almost seems insulting to me.

Yup. If you're white you are an -ist and/or engaging in an -ism no matter what you do. Doesn't matter what it is or why, you're still doing it. If it isn't obvious what just give it some time and someone will figure out what you're doing wrong.

Its only appropriation if the minority group finds it offense.

Blacks hate the idea of whites identifying as black because they want to gatekeep their oppression from slavery as a part of the black struggle and their identities as an oppressed minority, and how white people who didnt and dont go through any of that can just pretend to be black to fit into their culture while enjoying the ability to grow up white under a white society.

Not to mention the idea of losing that tan and being able to go back to being white any day where real blacks dont have that luxury.

On the other hand, you have an unprecedented wave of males in their 20s, 30s sometimes even going up to their 50s who have lived their whole lives as men.

Some develop as males through puberty and then try to play womens sports, they convert to women and are sterile, dont have periods, do not menstruate, they keep male benefits like stronger immune system, more physical strength, higher levels of athleticism, higher aptitude for STEM, and I have experienced this firsthand. In rare times they dont feel like being women, they can just put on mens clothing, take their makeup off and be a man.

Yet one is heavily frowned up while the other will get you fired or possibly sued for not acknowledging.
