It's like a whole bunch of stuff from other games done in a less interesting way. Like a mix of Mas Effect and Fallout that is nowhere near as compelling as either franchise. There's nothing inherently wrong about the dialogue, combat, character building, story etc. but there's nothing about it that sticks out either.

It feels a lot like a Netflix movie which is funny since I played it via Game Pass.

I knew it was a lower budget game but I did think there would be something that stood out since I generally love these games but I didn't think there was. I thought the same about Pillars of Eternity now that I think about it.

Ah well. Hopefully a sequel improves it.

I disagree I thought it was full of personality and I was interested in the story and what a lot of NPCs had to say. I find myself skipping dialog a lot and I didn't in this game.

I thought the different planets were cool and all of the concept art in the loading screens. It just seems like a cool collection of assets more than a solid game.

Eh I dunno I found the faction stuff in New Vegas and the stuff Obsidian did with KOTOR 2 way more interesting.

I was surprised at just how easy it was to get the ideal solution for everything. There is one decision at the beginning where you think "Oh this isn't as obvious as I thought" only for you to be given an easy, please everyone solution immediately after.

It was disappointing near the end when you are summoned by a corporation militant who gives the impression that maybe doing the hard thing is the right thing to do in the long run and things are completely fucked. Except then her quest is to bomb a peaceful community of people. Oh she's just another villain anyway.

Then what stings more is you can't even lie to her and say you'll do it. If you agree your companions give you grief and not once are you given the opportunity to say that you lied.

I played it via Game Pass on PC. Didn't have any technical issues.

I loved it. The writing was very funny and I enjoyed the actual act of the gameplay, unlike Fallout 3, NV, and 4

I've heard it described as "chicken soup" for WRPGs. It's not super amazing, but it was refreshing after all this Fallout 76/Elder Scrolls: Mobile/still buggy Skyrim ports/paid mods.

I'll get to it eventually I think. But it's not high on my list unless it comes out with a really good sequel.

That's probably a good way to put it. But in the other hand I wouldn't say it's leagues above Fallout 4 or Mass Effect Andromeda either. I just had significantly higher expectations for those games and this one is a new IP.

I think a lot of people are guilty of overlooking the isometric stuff though including myself.
