Yeah, between him and the big Demon dude, it took me like 7 hours. Including a few intermissions to go look for more upgrades.

Funnily enough, I thought Demon of Hatred was really easy, x.x . I got to fight him like a Dark Souls boss, and that made me happy.

He's extremely challenging, for sure, but he never feels unfair.

I hated that fight so much. The monotony of going through all of those phases so that he can kick my ass in his 3rd phase a million times was irritating. At least let me skip the very first part.

I had a somewhat easier time with phase three (thanks to lightning reflecting), but most of my issues with it came from having used up the majority of my gourds on phase two, :/

I fought Guardian Ape the same cause for some reason I didn't think you could block him. I just ran around using the grapple to dodge and getting cheap shots when I could. But I'm gonna assume you got lucky with DoH to protect my pride.

that was part of the fun for me, youre fighting the first few phases so many times that you eventually starting going through them taking minimal hits

All you really needed to do was stay under him constantly, >.< . If you can get dodge timings right for his stomps and his charging attacks, he's not so bad... just use the fire upgrade for the umbrella if you happen to get further away from him.

I'm just saying, I was puzzled at the difficulty hype behind him... I totally get it for Isshin, though. He's among the hardest Fromsoft bosses for me.

Three hours doesn't sound too bad.

I've probably got 10+ on several bosses or challenges.

And Mr. Perfect for Mega Man 9 took probably 20+ lol.

Not even close. As someone who has played Dark Souls 1, 2, 3, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, and now Sekiro, I can say that Sekiro is definitely the most consistently challenging of these games.

That bull gave me a tough time, too, <.< . The second bull in Fountainhead would have been just as egregious without being able to get a stealth deathblow on it.

They want to try and make the more honest people feel insecure about it. Doesn't work, but they think it does. There are always those people who don't realize they just make themselves look dumb and insincere

The difficulty rarely ever takes a break, so that might be a wise decision, x.x . That being said, it was still a really good game, though.
