Shoulda been a launch game for snes online

We already have all of the previous Mario games in the NES online thing. I'm actually glad we didn't get it I would feel ripped off

SMAS had the updated versions of those games, and made one of the best games of all time even better.

Why? If you have Switch online you have access to both NES and SNES anyway.

Wasnt the version of SMB3 that was on All-Stars like super fucked up gameplay wise due to it altering some mechanics with changing how it looks or something?

i've seen people comment about the games being messed up but i've seen literally nobody ever point out even a single example besides the bug with breaking bricks in smb1 and lost levels where you continue to pass through instead of being bounced down due to (iirc) a certain value mistakenly being negative
the rest of the changes are bugfixes, or take-it-or-leave-it aesthetic changes

I never liked how those games looked.

And then they resold Mario All Stars plus Super Mario World separately. These kids been milked since the beginning but they act like scummy video game companies are new.

I used to play that all the time. Once I got an NES, I tended to sway in favor of playing the NES originals.

I can't believe Super Mario Bros. 3 omitted the first king being turned into a dog and scratching for fleas. It's replaced with him being a cobrat who wanders back and forth. (Lame.) On the other hand, the cameos for Yoshi and Donkey Kong Jr. were pretty neat.

Yeah, I would love for All-Stars to be on SNES Online, but Nintendo seems to almost never rerelease that game, except for Mario's 25th Anniversary (which was posted mostly as is onto the Wii). I guess, why rerelease All-Stars when you could just sell the original NES versions separately and get more money?

Of course, that's a moot point with the Switch, but still.

They will never release Super Mario All Stars on a virtual console. They would much rather charge you $5-10 for games you have already bought for them yet again.

One creative decision which I must say is just plain weird is the decision to make bloopers pink in Super Mario Bros.

They were white in the original Super Mario Bros. and in both versions of Super Mario Bros. 3. The only game in which they were pink was in the Japanese version of Super Mario Bros. 2. So why retroactively make them pink in the first game if white is the canon color? If anything, they should be color corrected in The Lost Levels and the mystery of the pink blooper could've just been one of those weird things that never left Japan.

i have the snes cart so i probably wouldnt play it much on switch, but i still totally agree. its one of the best

I don't remember 3 in All Stars being different. I prefer the All Stars versions of those games. The music is great.

I don't think they play right with the SNES control scheme especially compared to the 2 button NES

VC with NES Classic controller is better IMO

For the most part, 3 plays the same. The big change is that the kinds all have different transformations from their NES counterparts. And it may be my imagination, but I feel like Bowser is just a little bit faster in the All*Stars version.
