Actually, a hero at my local Brooklyn deli is about $7 now. It used to be $4.50 in the 90s.

It was awesome in the past, but they stopped having pastrami so I stopped going. I loved the shredded lettuce.

The deli local to my workplace on the Upper East Side was $9.95 for a sandwich.

You people are missing the whole point, NOTHING, NOT EARNINGS, NOT CASH FLOW, NOT ANYTHING MATTERS. What matters is how much liquidity the FEDiots continue to pump into the market..Its up to close to 100 Billion per day, it was a year ago December that the FEDiots tried to cut back. Markets laid a big brown smelly on Jay Bowell's face. Since then its pump pump pump and it will be pump pump pump until the FEDiots have bought everything. Chopper Benny b said in 2000 or so that that is exactly what they will do in the end. Jay Bowell thinks it's good that the unemployment rate is 3% and the terminally unemployed are getting jobs. I don't. I have to work with these idiots they were unemployed for a reason. As long as Jay Bowell keeps the 3 month T-bill below 2% your footlong is going to continue to increase in price and get smaller, thank you.

They weren't, tho? I used to get a footlong Meatball Marinara for $5 and I think they're only like 6 now.

After they got rid of their $5 foot long sandwiches I stopped going. If Im gonna pay more than $5 I can get something a hell of a lot better than subway.

No it's not about that, it's about how a "footlong" was one of a specific set of 12" sandwiches.

Yeah the commercials would say "ANY ANY ANY" footlong and then in fine print say "any regular footlong" and the "regular footlongs" were plain turkey, ham & cheese, or veggies (not the veggie Patty, like just whatever veggies they had on their toppings choices for other sandwiches)

4-5 years ago they had the promotion for 5$ subs. not sure about the price of a tuna but meatball used to be around 5.25$ at most.

No. Every single time they ran that promo if I tried to get a meatball sub or sweet onion teriyaki chicken it was never $5. It was a very specific short list of subs.

it depends on the franchisee. when they had the 5$ footlong promotion when it supposed to have any choice the franchisee put the list of subs that validates the promotion price (couldn't get chicken bacon ranch or seafood) plus plenty others. just the basic meatball, turkey, ham and cold cut combo.

Impossible as I haven't been to Subway since 2016. I'm wrong about the meatball sub specially but the commercial very clearly excluded the higher priced sandwiches from the promo.

It was once explained to me that if they have to cook it (and by cook I mean put it already made in the oven) then it was a premium sub. There was some bacon ranch melt once upon a time that had the same deal. I recall the sweet onion teriyaki chicken also being on the list of premium subs but my memory isn't all that great.

What I do remember is arguing with the cashiers about the stupid ass promo not properly notating which subs were not included.

You also could in a way get a $5 footlong double stacked, they just started at $5 and added the normal surcharge.

Well the fault isn't the menu, it's the commercial putting that shit in fine print for a few seconds while screaming "ANY ANY ANY" at you so I go to Subway thinking "any" only to have the fine print pointed out at me after I've already had the sandwich made.

I must not have been the only one with that issue since they later added $5 stickers to various menu items around here.

I've since thrown up twice from eating at subways, different ones at different times, late 90s and early 2010s so I'm done with the place in general.

I like subway. And go when I can. Idk about regular subs. My sub is expensive, but I get double meat, add double bacon, and get all the cheeses. So that all adds up...
