Lets not fool ourselves, please. That said, none of the remakes, good or bad, should impact our enjoyment of the originals. But they took characters that people loved and changed them in to heartless assholes. When its not being brain dead and actually puts effort into the comedy, it can be good. I haven't seen the Netflix version, but I loved the 80s version (the one with the lions, of course). I also loved Robotech. I wanted to love Captain Harlock and the Queen of a Thousand Years, but it was just too confusing for me to follow, especially since I couldn't watch it every day. I can understand children liking it since I liked some stupid shit when I was a kid, but I cant imagine an adult being able to stomach it.
