I'd say no. Lying about something like that would just cause problems in the long run. If you want to volunteer, just ask. No need to tell them your stance on religion. Even then, at some churches I know it wouldn't matter if you're not religious. A lot of them are there just to kind of help the community.

Unless it's a Baptist church. Stay away from Baptist churches.

Which is why I ask if it's okay. I burned CE in the past, so I want to know if this is okay or not. Most people lie to get laid, but after lying to CE, I feel badly lying about anything. But that has caused me to be forever alone. I need to lie, but I don't because I feel badly about it

But I can't be 'confident' and tell the truth at the same time. If someone asks me what I did today, should I tell them I sat and talked on Gamefaqs all day? I need to lie. I need to say I did X and had a blast so they think I'm cool

I'm not a terrible person at all

It's a legit thing. People ask me all the time what I did over the weekend, and I tell them the truth - I didn't do anything. I stayed home and didn't go out. That makes me seem like a loser to them, imo. But if I were to lie and say that I did something fun, then they would find me more appealing

The best way to correct this is to go out and have fun over the weekend, but I can't because everyone thinks I'm a loser and will not hang out with me based on me telling the truth. I feel like I need to lie to get the ball rolling, but I don't want to.

I just asked someone if they want to hang out with me soon, and they seem to be okay with that. I didn't have to lie to that person, so I think I'm on the best path right now

But honestly, why would you call me a terrible person for not wanting to lie to people?

you say youre remorseful but if you really were then you shouldnt be trying to find some loophole and do the same thing with a separate coat of paint.

you can go out and do stuff on your own. you dont need to do something with other people to say you did it.

when i was in middle school i briefly mirrored the conservative values of a well-endowed mormon crush while trying to win her over

didn't work but we were cool all throughout middle and high school; now at 30 she's aged like raw milk so

but to answer your question though - dishonest to outright lie about being religious, but acceptable to take a sincere interest in someone's faith with the strong likelihood of embracing it

But that's what I do tell them, and the look in their eyes and on their face is pure. . .something. Hate? No, they just look at me as if I'm a loser. When I ask them they tell me they did this and that and didn't have enough time to do the other thing they wanted to do, so they will do it next weekend.

catholic? i'd say go for it, especially if you were raised in the church. tradition arguably more important than faith itself.

if it were a protestant church though, i'd tread lightly with that.
