Thanks for the link. Yeah I probably will pick one up and some more proper tools and accessories as well sometime. I'm digging these gunplas. Now I wish I still had my Wing Zero one I did as a kid.

I've never built a kit from that line but it looks really neat I would go for it. For anyone looking to get into the hobby I suggest checking out Barnes and Noble. They have a couple of newer popular kits from varying grades in stock, as well as DBZ and One piece kits. Also they have a neat beginners box that includes cutters, tweezers, a file, and a panel lining marker for about 15 bucks. You could get that and a starter kit for a little over 30.

I just got into the Gunpla game in the last year or so, I've put together four kits since, a RG Wing Gundam, SD RX-78, the one that you did, and a Haro Ball. I didn't know about panel lining at first so I had to go back and retroactively do the Wing, and my hands being shaky + carpal tunnel means my panel lining is jank, but it does make them look nicer.

Before I put a pause on builds due to a cross state move I started experimenting with clear coating, that stuff works wonders and looks amazing. I haven't finished clear coating all my finished models yet but I'll get back to it soon once I have the space.

@Murphiroth The Haro looks pretty awesome with the matte finish! It is a bit harder to appreciate it on the RX-78 from the photo.

Ah, that's a sweet ass model. I've always liked that gundam since there was a racing game called Tokyo Xtreme Racer with one of the final bosses having a car based off of it and it was awesome.

Those look great. I have the same problem with the lining. My hands shake too much as well, but I think I did alright for my first try. My bigger problem is with the stickers. My shaky hands plus those microscopic stickers gave me some problems.

Your sticker placement is on point! Your panel lining is also pretty good for a beginner. For stickers I always use tweezers to put them on since its a little bit easier to reposition them. Panel lining is kind of a pain. For pure white kits always go with a gray and wipe away excess with a q-tip. Black is too prevalent. For darker kits like red and blue a dark brown is actually really good to accentuate everything.

I still need to sticker my Zaku but I have this same problem. I bought a tool kit from Amazon that had both angled and straight tweezers and that helped a lot. The clippers in the kit sucked but I already had a set I bought from the import store I get the Gunpla from.

These are the colors I go with although I went with black on the SD RX-78 to push the SD look, I think it worked out. Any non SD white kit and black is definitely too much.

Don't cut right at the connection for the spru and the part for the cutters unless you have the god hand nippers. Cut a little bit before then clean it up with a toe nail clipper and some sand filers. It honestly works wonders.

Praise! That's just the one thing I can't justify spending too much money on. SD kits you can definitely panel line black on. It pops a LOT. And TC I would suggest checking out some posing next! There's a lot of good guides on there that would give your kits that extra umf to make them look spectacular.

I'm so thinking of getting one of the Gundam Wing ones. I was a fan back when, then tried watching it again a couple of years ago, but just couldn't. The suits though are still awesome. Trowa's Heavyarms was and is still my favorite. I just like chain guns.

I recently got my first model from the Unicorn series and it is fucking amazing. The detail, transformation and look are top notch.

I'd also recommend looking into the Iron Blooded Orphans, especially Barbatos.

Which unicorn and which wing kits? The 1/100 IBO kits are all awesome. I'd suggest the barbatos lupus and grimgerde

I got RG Norn, and it's amazing. Don't have experience with the other kits from Unicorn, bit assuming the quality is going to be the same, they'll be awesome.

I personally aren't really into MG. I mainly stick to RG/HG.

Are they so good that you can entirely skip out the craft knife procedure and go straight to the filing? Cause if thats the case then they are worth it even though the cheapest i can find in the UK is like 70. Seems like it would save a lot of time, maybe cut down 20-30% of the time cutting the bits before filing.

Yeah I've been binge wathcing those build videos too lately. And damn, there are some awesome kits that I would love to have, but my wallet is sad at the moment. I'll probably buy a kit or 2 at the end of the month again.

Those are some pretty cool looking suits/gundams. I kinda feel I got to watch the series first. I know it's not exactly necessary, but I just want to get the...context of it if you know what I mean. It's hard for me to put it in words. Really, I've only really seen 4 (OG,08th MS Team, Zeta,Wing) out of the very many. I got a lot of catching up to do.

I have to admit that I bought Banshee Norn on a whim. I had never seen the series, nor did I look up information about the kit. I just came across it when browsing and was immediately drawn to it. Not a single regret though, worth every penny. I get what you are saying though.

My rule in general is not buying kits for series I haven't watched, otherwise I'd be drowning in models to build.

That said, I do have 3 kits for series I haven't watched.

Yeah it just feels weird. I went ahead and got some more on the way. Just MSG ones: Char's Gelgoog, Guntank, and Guncannon plus the little tool set. Guncannon is coming from Japan so that will be a while, but the others should be here tomorrow thanks to Amazon prime. Can't wait. Probably will do GunTank first. Still sticking with HG ones. I want to wait on getting master ones until I get some good practice in.
