Using a plastic straw in a restaurant is kind of weird to begin with. And I'm guilty of it too, mainly since my cousins got me in the habit of doing it as a kid. But it really is stupid. Where did this idea come from that glasses aren't clean and you need the straw? And if the glass isn't clean then what is the straw really doing? I mean, the liquid is clearly touching the glass. And people accept that the glasses aren't clean but the plates are somehow fine?

Tbqh I kind of prefer drinking from those lids with the big hole in them now, like what Blaze Pizza uses. I never put that much thought into straws before, just accepted them as the norm, but it turns out they aren't my favorite

Ice water without a straw hurts your teeth. And using a straw with soda is good for dental health since the acidic soda bypasses your teeth.

i mean if humans weren't careless to the point where they throw shit into the ocean so straws get stuck in turtles' noses it wouldn't be an issue. Unless you don't care about the turtles.
