I personally find it hard to take a child with aspergers seriously

Personally, I don't care about her.

Her "critics" are climate change deniers, though, so I hate them.

I had a family member work with aspergers patients -- they only appear normal on the surface. They're more like "The world is black and white" robots who get very upset if you question that. They don't perceive the world as it is.

I'm not saying climate change isn't real, just that I put no stock in the opinions of someone with a limited ability to understand the world

She's an example of why we don't get environmental change.

We could come forward to economically viable plans, fully prepared to deal with the problems brought by a massive econominc shift with empathy to those that will have to deal with the consequences in the short term, or even the long one.

Or would could be scolded because everyone from the generation that started Greenpeace, through those of us that grew up on Captain Planet cartoons didn't make the world perfect before it was her generation's turn to carry the torch.

Little hurts a cause more than it's spokesperson being little more than a walking tantrum.

Not particularly.
She's a passionate kid that was trotted up on stage to appeal to emotion. The problem with that is the people that it works on are already on your side and your opposition has no problem with harassing children. Everyone in the middle straight up doesnt give a shit about her thoughts. She's a casualty of a poorly thought out PR stunt.

Scientists and other experts: "We're harming the planet. We need to make changes. Stop using fossil fuel. We will reach milestones that will be hard or impossible to return from. This isn't natural"

Repeat for decades

Skeptics: *crickets*

Greta Thunberg many years later: "I'm a kid and I'm mad that you're destroying my future by ignoring climate change"

Skeptics: "Oh so you're going to use children to push emotional propaganda?! No wonder your cause sounds like bullshit! Come back when you have real arguments from people who fucking matter!"
