Trump can come out right now and said he did it and they wouldnt do anything

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/10/17/white-house-chief-staff-mick-mulvaney-admits-it-there-was-ukraine-quid-pro-quo/

Mulvaney didnt directly use the phrase quid pro quo, but he didnt take issue with it, either.
We do that all the time with foreign policy, he said when it was pointed out that he appeared to be describing a quid pro quo. He added: "I have news for everybody: Get over it. Theres going to be political influence in foreign policy.

when that didnt go over well they literally lied about what he said

Let me be clear, there was absolutely no quid pro quo between Ukrainian military aid and any investigation into the 2016 election

Democrats have always been held to a higher standard.

But let's be frank.

If a president can use his executive power to influence the outcome of an upcoming presidential election he is participating in, then we do not have free and honest elections.

The Senate fully understands this and is totally willing and committed to exonerating Trump of this highly impeachable offense.

They are destroying our democracy.

You may probably never see a more pivotal time in our democracy as this one; the undoing of America as a democracy.

During the break, conservative senators are trying to say that Trump cares about corruption in our elections yet, Trump himself went on tv and asked China to open an investigation on his political rival, Joe Biden.

Smh.

The big issue is that this is a case of corruption of an entire political party, the senate and house aiding in a cover up. And once it's over the prevailing narrative is going to be that democrats screwed up and just didn't have a strong enough case. And for some reason everybody, Republicans and Democrats alike, is going to eat it up.

Ms Lindsey Graham is trying his best to push the narrative of investigating the Bidens.

He won't acknowledge that Trump's entire purpose, based on the evidence, was to dig up dirt on his political rival.

If Trump so cared about corruption in our elections, why didn't he start an investigation into the Bidens in 2017 or 2018?

Why wait till Biden started running for president to start an investigation?

Also, if Trump cared about corruption in our elections, why did he go on tv and invite China to dig up dirt on Biden, his political rival?

Its frustrating on a level that pushes one toward apathy; they flood the media with half-truths and in every sound byte, giving voters (who, by and large, wont look past a headline) enough fact with the bullshit theyre being fed to continue to support Trump and cohorts.

He openly flaunts every transgression. The man is not intelligent. Hes a danger to our democracy and, furthermore, to our way of life.

Partisanship aside, this is about Americas future.

Trump's defense lawyers are pathetic.

Ain't it funny that they tried to make it seem like the House purposely left out salient details.
Then when you see what they're talking about, its Trump's brainless rambling and repetition.

We're not going to entertain hypotheticals solely for the sake of you appearing to have a valid point.

We are going to deal with REALITY the way that it currently is, and entertain FACTS then decide if the president is guilty or not.

I feel like that undermined your attempt to shoot him down, not bolstered it...

Fox News is a heavily biased news source. At one point, they declined to show any of the footage saying it was too boring. Try watching pieces of the actual thing broadcast live someplace else and see if you still think that.

Did you watch the House's impeachment inquiry on Fox too? I ask because the version shown on other news channels showed the Democrats gathering a fair amount of (what seemed to me anyway) to be compelling evidence and witness testimony. I've seen plenty of Republican posters claiming that the House investigation didn't find anything, so I'm wondering if those people watch Fox News exclusively.
