I smoke, I'm always sitting around on the couch and I have a lot of anxiety. I normally *don't* smoke first thing in the morning, but on Saturday I got up, popped out of bed and went to go smoke a cigarette. It was a menthol organic American Spirit (won't be buying those again >_>) and I was probably inhaling it too fast. Probably about halfway through it my left arm started to go numb, then I noticed my vision started to blur, so I put the cigarette out, went inside, leaned over to kiss my wife (who was still in bed), then lost my balance and almost smashed into our television >_>.

I was fine after that I think but it was a kind of freaky thing.

I'm pretty sure it was just because I went straight to inhaling nicotine from a resting position without even fully waking up, but yeah I'm definitely gonna review my smoking habits (and eating habits, actually had a salad for lunch for the first time in years >_>).

A vodka is just the first thing I could think of following "absolute" without being a term of blatant insult.

I don't know whether to call it a pet peeve, but there are several decent people on CE that just seem to be cool with, like, drowning in nasty shit! I don't like it! The thing isn't about that one instance, it's about all the choices that lead up to that point, man.

But it's your life your choice, I don't know you personally, yadda yadda. You just seem okay as a person, which sticks out with how horrible everyone on CE is.

Could be a variety of things. My mom had it out of the blue, lost hearing in 1 ear...go to the doctor. Could be an undiagnosed aneurysm. Thankfully hers were in an area easily clipped. She had 3 clips in her brain and has recovered, but lost hearing in her left ear permanently.

When you say "clipped"... what do you mean exactly?

Did she have any other symptoms before then or did her hearing just completely drop out??

I feel you. I get this at times of changing stances. I just close my eyes real tight while everything feels like it's revolving and it goes away in a few seconds.

That's what I hear from her (she's an LVN) and the rest of my family. It's hardware in her brain, they've done surgery twice on her and gone through her groin into her brain, how that works I have no clue.

No, from what I remember she said she just woke up one morning and felt very dizzy, stumbling around the place and my sister took her to the emergency room and she found out then. Her hearing just dropped out, she thought maybe after the surgeries she'd get it back but they've told her it's just gone, even a hearing aid wouldn't help her.

Ok I looked it up, here are the steps.

1. Making a small opening in the skull.
2. Using a specialized microscope to isolate the blood vessel that feeds the aneurysm.
3. Placing a small metal, clothespin-like clip on the aneurysm's neck, halting its blood supply

She didn't require this though, my dad died from his though because he was an old man and obviously scared from such an invasive surgery. My mother's were easily found though and not IN her brain, more on the outside of her brain where this neurosurgeon could get there without slicing her head open.
