Idk if it is true, but the person seems to be pretty sure about themselves. If they do what they did with BotW and Oddysey and Luigi's Mansion, and make a new one that goes back to the old styles that people loved with even more cool open world type of stuff, it could be really awesome! Now that there is only one Nintendo system, Mario and Luigi doesn't work as the RPG Mario series anymore, so they have no reason not to go back to the old style of Paper Mario.

Also a new Mario Kart, but that is always expected.

that being said, a true paper mario game would have me buy a switch in a heartbeat, no questions asked

Intelligent Systems was making it. They also are the ones who made Waifu Emblem a big thing. Maybe Nintendo could hand it over to Retro, or any other creator who could do it justice.

IS wanted a classic Paper Mario. The only reason we got Sticker Star and Color Splash is that Miyamoto literally came in halfway through development and made them scrap everything and make the low budget crap we got.

I figure eventually they gotta make a new Kart game. 8 is good, but it is still a port with extra stuff from the Wii U. We need a completely new one eventually. I think the Switch will be around for a while, so it makes sense to me. SNES, 64, and Gcube all lasted like 5 years and all had their own Mario Kart, I think we will be fine with Switch getting its own Kart game considering it will be around way longer than that.

Come on you nerds. They turned things around for lots of games on the Switch going back to what made the past games fun. They might have learned there lesson. If we could get an open world Paper Mario game I'll probably finally actually get a Switch. I've been meaning to, but haven't made the plunge yet.

Given that the card games still sold despite being trash, I doubt it'll shift back towards its roots. Even if they abandon the cards, I'm sure it'll just have more generic toads. But if in a one in a thousand shot they actually make a proper RPG with partners, instant day one buy.

They just need to tell Miyamoto to fuck off and give Intelligent Systems full creative control again. They did fine when they were at the helm for the first 3 games.

Couple that with the mishandling of one of the most quaint and creative IPs ever, nintendo has pretty much lost me as a customer forever. A real paper mario would win me back, but their Switch track record has not impressed me

The switch getting a new paper mario is pretty obvious considering even SS and CS were two of the more successful games on their respective consoles. The question is can they actually make it good

Right, I'm speaking for myself and no one else.

Yeah okay. Do you really like linear over open world? I get it if you want the game yo he one big story that flows through itself. But I've never been much for beating games, I'm more about wandering around and just looking at stuff and feeling lost in the world. Honestly I've probably beaten less than 5 percent of the games I've played.
Like, I beat Mario Sunshine, the first 3 Paper Mario games, both Sonic Adventures and Sonic Heroes. Oh and Super Mario World. The rest I usually just start over before I end up finishing.

Ohh I best Luigi's Mansion a bunch of times but that game is super short.
