Sure. But Idris Elba doesnt look like the same superheroes she could play. Where she actually looks like the superheroes. Just because Hollywood is shit at casting most of the time doesnt mean they always will be. You asked what superhero she could play. And he showed you one that she actually could play and looks like her. You cant say the same about Idris Elba as he doesnt look like her.

To be fair to Hollywood you can't just pick up an Instagram model and give them the lead role to Wonder Woman just because they sort of look the same. Actors need to know what they're doing.

But there's also no opportunities for buff women for roles either. Not sure if the audience is there yet for them. Hollywood still aren't convinced female lead action movies are a good idea. Birds of Prey is yet another proving ground.

So things are just sort of fucked as usual.

But even they know how to remember their lines, how to get around a movie lot, listen to directions etc.

It's still a job you have to learn.

Even bad acting is still better than people who have no experience at all.

if you say so.

I mean I just felt the love radiating off Anakin and Padme in the prequels

didnt just feel line they threw a barbie and ken doll together at all. Clearly two human beings hired on the merits of their incredible acting acumen that made us all feel what true romance looks like , I couldn't believe they weren't really married in real life I was just so absorbed by their performance

This whole exchange started from someone suggesting she should get in some acting classes.

polar opposite views

Tbf, I speak from personal experience. Most fire departments have a social media conduct policy that prohibits you from posting basically anything that identifies you as a member of the dept. Despite that, firefighters constantly post photos of themselves in their gear, on the scene, pics of their trucks, etc... without any issue. But if someone gets on the wrong side of the higher ups, they'll jump on it ASAP.

Which would delay production for an entire movie to train up an Instagram model. That's quite the gamble.

Your example is two people who are great actors but worked under a shitty director who didn't know how to direct his actors or write good dialogue.

If anything that's an example of someone being good at one thing doesn't mean they'll be good at another.

Sounds like she should get her job. But they should create a policy. You shouldnt be doing this shit in uniform
"The boards chairman concluded she did nothing wrong, but the board agreed that it would in the future create a social media policy. No such policy, however, was ever developed."

They already decided to make a policy, then sat around on their fucking hands and didn't do it. And then decided that since they thought of the idea and did nothing to implement it, then they could just go ahead and enforce it.

He wasnt suggesting a specific movie lol, just in general she has a great superheroine figure and it would be cool to see her in a movie one day.

Not necessarily. If they know theyre going to choose an Instagram model instead of an actor, theyd probably get her on acting classes early so shes ready for filming. And they can film smaller/ easier scenes while shes still in class. Though, this whole thing was started because someone said to get her in acting class. Which means to get her in acting class so she can try out for movies. Which makes this whole discussion a moot point...

Alien 3

Terrible movie but Charles Dance and Sigourney Weaver are incredible in it because they are good actors.

Both are not Ken and Barbie dolls tho.

Only a poor actor blames the director.

That's fine. I just don't think it's the job of casting to figure that stuff out. It would be dumb for a blockbuster movie to cast someone with zero experience just because of looks. Even Arnold Schwarzenegger did some schlocky shit before he hit it big.

Most superhero movies don't have that luxury. You're talking about hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars on the line.

But yes there's nothing stopping a talent agency or agent taking her own and getting her acting lessons. Which is its own thing.

Alien 3 was a bad movie but it was directed by David Fincher. Who is a great director.

I'm just gonna ignore your implication that Natalie Portman is a Barbie doll. Even 'Barbie Doll' actors get their start in soap operas like Home and Away anyway.

Which was the whole point. Nobody was saying to stop production of any movie to get her in. The whole thing started because someone said to get her acting lessons. Which if she got could help her to Star in a superhero movie one day. Were now way off tangent from what the actual discussion is about...

Natalie Portman looks like she would lose a game of tug of war with a dog.

She looks like if she stepped on a large sewer drain she'd fall through the crack

She looks like one of the trophy chicks that holds the arm of rich jerks parading around.

She's a barbie doll. Barbie dolls don't have to have big tits. She got hired for the prequels because she was pretty.

Who would you ask to help you move a couch into your new home? Natalie Portman or a 15 year old boy?

Be honest.

Which wasn't addressed to Skye and things got off track from there.

Basically it's an issue of;
- Can't get a major role without experience
- Can't get experience because there's barely buff women acting roles or people in the industry looking for buff women

Which is basically all I was saying.

Not that I have any stake in this but why would anyone ask a nearly 40 year old woman to help move a couch over a 15 year old boy? Of course people are going to ask the younger and likely stronger guy over the middle aged woman.

Besides, Portman was around the age of 16 when she was cast as Padme, correct? Are we really going to call a 16 year old high school kid a Barbie doll? Didnt George Lucas say that he wanted her for the role due to her performances in The Professional and Beautiful Girls?

No real stakes in this but Im just curious to see what you will say, UR.
