The game is currently retailing for $20 so thats $115 to buy the game and all DLC today and if you bought the $60 game at launch and THEN all the DLC you would spend $155 total.

The new BB Cross Tag Battle DLC was pretty scummy, too. You have to buy all the new characters together even if you just want one of them

Tbh, it does cost money to develop new characters. Most hardcore FGC players have accepted this and are willing to pay extra for a game they play all the time. Ever since SkullGirls crowd funded a DLC character for $150,000 and brought the costs of character development to light people have been much more tolerant of $5 for a character.
