When the cheesy love song part plays in this song (8:50 I believe is one part, 14:20 is when it really goes off), I can't help but feel my heart flutter and think about my feelings towards my professors. It's crazy how the brain can connect the sound of the song based on the media, and hit the right neurons to make you feel all lovey-dovey and all that garbage.

I felt nothing, but that's probably because I'm dead inside.

When you say, the media, are you talking about orchestration?
If so I agree Tchaikovsky was a master of picking the right instrument for the parts.
Also, he wasn't afraid to try new things.

I used to listen to swan lake while playing air combat games.

Perhaps I'm not giving him enough credit. I don't know what emotions he was going for, but that probably was supposed to be the "romantic love" portion of it I assume based on the fact it is called The Romeo & Juliet - Overture.

I was just saying since many shows, films, skits, and sometimes even games have used that specific portion of the song to represent that "Falling in love" moment, I strongly associate that part with the feeling of love.

Ya, I kinda thought that...but wasn't sure.
But either way, it certainly was by design on Tchakovsky's he was very good at what he did.
I believe he was rather depressed as a person btw.

He may not be my favorite composer, but he is up there.
I actually referenced him in a Redux topic earlier today.
