Now that an arguably good foreign movie has made it to the best pictures list, did the committee of the Oscars vote for this movie? For me it felt like 1917 was the obvious front-runner and odds on favorite to win (it also won a lot of awards coming in) so I was a little surprised. I think most of the Oscars it won were also a little surprising (excluding international film obviously). Just seemed like they could have picked the more obvious ones.
