I already wrote off Ben as scum with Lea, and since Lea was an assumption of scum Ben's status is unchanged.

so chris is a lier and doesnt want to kill lea now and would prefer to lynch me for trying to understandwhats going on and thinking he is town... so apparently i shluld never think. Basically there are 4 scum. I am most sure of lea but she is a pain in the ass to deal with. I am pretty tired. Sultan is pretty scummy too so that works for me given I have no fear of death tonight. Can come back to murdering lea tomorrow when I am feeling better. Or you all can do it now but dont make me work for it

Anyway on the subject of me and ben being super fun scum buddies, the events of today don't make much sense if that is the case. I can see the connection between ben's claim and me being scum with him, that's OK on its own. But that type of claim day 2 isn't in my favor at scum in any way. For starters even with me asking nicely not to kill him, it would still be possible he is lynched today and then I having gone to bat for him would get 'uh oh' music over my head. Secondly this type of gambit would be much more effective later in the game after, say, as scum we no kill and then ben goes "a-ha!" and everyone thinks he is town and it is amazing and I am town and oh my god etc etc.

But until the claim I let everyone know even though I was town clearing ben through lea that I didn't like him other than that, so under the premise that I am not as perfect as I'd like to be I was OK with people applying pressure. Which really nulls the point of defending a scum buddy. Also nulls that idea. Like if Ben is my buddy and is forced to claim day 2 I just switch that scheme to another buddy. If I thought that far ahead I wouldn't let Ben claim it day 2 and have it essentially go to waste or be subject to a vig, an unruly mob, etc very early in the game.

Like the gambit itself is a pretty good idea from a scum chris perspective, but how it unfolded today would be a really bad botch and an unforced error in every way considering I have had no pressure on myself.

Also Sultan's interactions in day 1 flagged me pretty hard, if anyone cares to go back and look! Which means my great compromise is just going from one scum target to the next, which is the best type of compromise tbh.

I hope I don't need to say this, but this reeks of town Sbell so he's really fine.

Not sure what to make of Lopen still though. I thought I remembered him being a better reader of me but I have learned to be disappointed a lot by that.
