The House needs to go to court to resolve a dispute about executive privilege.

See I thought this is what he was referring to. They asked a court to decide and the house pushed it through before the court decided. And that Trump would have complied if the court ruled against him. But, I am not sure if this is the thing he is talking about or not so I didn't want to respond.

Look I'll admit that if Bloomberg holds strong despite increased scrutiny then yes, that proportion of his black supporters probably just don't care! But also, they're still supporting a racist. There's no oxymoron there.

I'm just saying we have no indication yet that this story doesn't matter, since this primary is ridiculously turbulent and everyone's support is jumping all over the place for tons of reasons.

first half is biden focused.

laughing at how media declared biden's victory 10 months ago, saying everyone else is at the kiddy table.
laughed at biden gaffes.
laughed at cable news.
pointed out the black vote switch.
points out that media who did all this should be held accountable by the people.

second half gets into media attention and pundits relating to bernie, pete, bloomberg, and the future of the party.

if you're a biden guy, you may not agree with everything there.
otherwise you're looking at a pretty remarkable level of agreement on those 3 candidates (opinions on pete probably batting 100% in here) and a terrified idea that he might well be right on the last opinion: that it's really bloomberg vs. bernie.

this view should be seen more often as we go forward by the way. i've said it before but those veritas vids ain't disappearing. the man himself is pretty untouchable but who he employs are not and it's constantly something seen in media. take the way his spat with warren started - campaign staffers were pointing out how white her base is. take his apology to biden - campaign staffer again. both were right mind you, however he purposefully put distance or apologized for their actions as if they had done something wrong. people notice that. if he wins the ticket, expect the comments of his staffers that veritas got to be put front and center, so expect to hear him being a gulag supporter who rejects any questioning when pressed.

it will end up with one clear narrative: bernie might be a fine person but he's bad at picking staff, making him a bad leader.

The Veritas videos are completely irrelevant, were talking about staffers so low on the totem pole that Bernie hasnt even met them, let alone personally hired them.

Not exactly. It means don't outright trust what they say and have a healthy amount of skepticism. Especially if it's something all of Washington magically seems to agree with, they're almost always wrong.

This is just such a weird discussion that I don't even see the point. The reason Carlson is disliked by the left isn't for his Biden takes and no one genuinely believes that. It's because he uses his cable news platform to spew racist and white supremacy-aligned talking points and arguments.

Wouldn't really say either of those are politics though. This is. His position on Biden may be harsh, though much of it is on Biden: a media creation. Which I don't think I've seen in here much but believe it'd get widespread agreement. His position on Pete has been said in here. On Bernie - by his supporters. On Bloomberg. Hell, someone here pointed out how because it's not winner take all they are expecting a brokered convention in this specific topic - that's explicitly stated. Only thing that is new would be the idea that this is Bloomberg vs. Bernie and the ramifications of that kind of election. I'd sooner say we don't talk about that because we refuse to believe the situation is that broken.

Definitely agree with this just on the basis of electability against Trump, especially with Warren's collapse. I may have a few more >s between Klobuchar and Biden just to emphasize that I don't see anybody below her beating Trump at all with the way things have developed, and I'm not even 100% sure I'd favor her.

If we're talking pure electability I think I'd say it's Klobuchar. I'm still a bit nervous about Sanders on that front.

I think it's kind of Biden's argument but on steroids; he could do really well with moderates, but while I think a concerted effort from Bernie could get most of the left on board with Biden he's gonna have a tougher time doing so with Bloomberg who's literally a billionaire buying his way into the election. And then you combine that with the fact that Bloomberg's path to winning the nomination very likely involves a contested convention and I'm really worried.

well you know me i'm here to keep everyone here thinking fast

My rationale is the pessimistic view that the moderate candidates command a higher share of the votes when you pool them together and she has the least downsides that the others in that group have in a general IMO. Furthermore, she's from the midwest so that can help, and I think she'd feel like a safe "return to normalcy" type candidate that could run up the margins in the suburbs that have turned hard on Trump. I don't think that's the direction the country needs right now but I think it's the safest/easiest sell.

Sanders's theory of the case continues to concern me because I will never have any confidence in a youth/disaffected voter surge strategy until it actually happens. Like god I hope it's right but it flies in the face of electoral history.
