Do you have a problem with someone being Gay?

Gay Police Officer, Keith Wildhaber from St. Louis, Missouri was told to "tone down his gayness" and was PASSED OVER for a promotion 23 TIMES because of it has hit the daily double after winning 10.25 MILLION settlement on the same day his police chief that told him that has QUIT!!

He finalized the agreement on the discrimination lawsuit on Monday as he was originally awarded 20 MILLION back in October after a jury found the dept guilty because he is gay

But both sides agreed to go through the mediation before reaching a final decision in order to avoid a lengthy appeals process and decided to award him half of that now to get it over with

Keith has since been promoted to LT and into a newly created role of commander of the force's DIVERSITY and INCLUSION unit

County Executive Sam Page said the settlement was substantially less than the 22 million awarded by the jury and what it could have cost if there was an 18 month appeal and that the payout sends a message and an opportunity for the department to now "move forward"

He said it showed that Wildhaber survived the police dept and now asks the county to move forward from it and that everyone that is a county government employee should not be discriminated in the workplace

Jon Belmar, the police chief who told Wildhaber to cut down the "gayness" made the shock announcement to step down as his dept is rocked by anti-LGBT culture as Page said that the chief made the decision himself and was not forced out but says that change begins at the top

4 out of 5 police board members were ousted and replaced as Page warns more shake ups were coming

The Diversity and Inclusion Unit would improve how officers interact witht he community as well as review procedures, policies and practices to identify areas of opportunity related to diversity.

Wildhaber filed a lawsuit against the dept in 2017 after claiming discrimination. He joined in 1994 as a security officer before rising to the ranks as a patrolman, then a detective and then a sergeant but was passed over for promotion 23 times but the dept said his mannerisms and appearance do not fit the stereotypical norms of what a STRONG MALE should be and was told to "tone down his gayness" if he wanted a promotion

At dps, by all accounts he was a good cop that was discriminated against. Does that merit compensation since upper management discriminated him? Had he been promoted, he would have made far less but that's their fault.

With being gay? No. With getting another payout because you're somehow different and offended? Yeah kinda. That's what's wrong with people these days. They don't want fair. They want easy street.

This is about it not being fair.

Lots of people get passed up for promos. 20 mill worth? Yeah I dunno. Even 10 sounds a bit much. Whatever, it doesn't affect me.

At dps, the department was found guilty of discriminating against this good officer for something that didn't affect his ability to perform his job. Doesn't that merit some from of compensation given he was denied raises for invalid reasons?

And he wouldn't have a case, if it wasn't for the discrimination.

Recently saw a video about someone who tried to sue for this on some legal channel on youtube. The case was tossed out because it had no merit to prove the individual deserved the position and was passed over due to their race.

In this situation he did have a case because he was discriminated against.
