I dunno. They're making a big deal about the story and the cosmetics. A bland artstyle can make a pretty big difference for a game.

It's hard to explain, But I think Arkham Batman, Injustice, Insomniac Spider-man and Ultimate Alliance 3 all have their own unique personality, look and feel that this game just doesn't? They look like designs you'd see in a theme park ride or mobile game. Like they're accurate but they're just not interesting.

Nobody forced them to do the toned down realistic art style of the MCU.

Nobody is looking at that Thor and thinking he looks great. That's a problem. It's not even really a different style. It's just MCU Thor with a different face. It's boring. As are all of these designs. The Hulk has the exact same skin tone and hair as the MCU. This is supposed to be a multiplayer focused game where a large motivation is unlocking more cosmetics and skins. Yet these are the most boring adaptations of the characters they could have possibly done.

I don't know any other Marvel or DC game that has this same issue so I think it's unfair to say it's only because people know the MCU Avengers. If Arkham Asylum just had Nolan Batman with not-Christian Bale people would call that out too. Everything about this looks like it's a generic movie tie-in game even though it isn't.

Imagine you need to make an Avengers game that on one hand finally gives people the experience of playing a proper Avengers title coming off the MCU hype while at the exact same time trying to differentiate it enough to make its own property.

Its literally impossible because on the internet everyones pissed off. Believe me, you absolutely dont want them to actually get the actors so RDJ and Chris Evans and everyone else to jack up the budget on game by millions of dollars just so they can phone in some voice lines.

Ive seen literally every kinda complaint about the characters you can imagine. They didnt draw enough inspiration from the comics yall dont know shit because Thor and Iron mans designs are direct from the comics. They didnt try to their own designs no thats their original Captain America and people hate that shit too. And then of course the comparisons to the MCU which is YouTube comment level and Ive addressed enough.

All this about the costumes and designs is nonsense anyway because theyve already revealed alternative skins.

I too loved the West Coast Avengers movie when they moved out to San Francisco, had their own celebratory day of the year, were attacked by taskmaster and captain America dies and the Group disbands. Then cut to the future where AIM (loves their portrayal in the movies) has taken over in the avengers place and Kamala Khan gets the band back together.

Man that old song and dance eh.

yall see the avengers and cant differentiate it form the movies at all and thats just sad.

I never said they couldn't. But they're choosing to literally use the same color tones for the suits and everything. They're showing off a demo in an MCU style Helicarrier above the Golden Gate Bridge. They're the ones who chose to start off with the OG Avengers line-up with one new character replacing Hawkeye. They're marketing the game in a way you can't help but compare them.

Injustice 2 and BvS/JL are both 'realistic' and look completely different. It's not some impossible challenge to overcome. Being unafraid to use some color and not just use the same tones as the MCU alone would make a big difference. It's a video game. Not a live action movie. They should take advantage of that.

No. I'm saying if they didn't want to be compared to the MCU they shouldn't have picked the same shade of green. This applies to basically all of their styles.

They could have taken the opportunity to put Hank Pym or Wasp front and centre and didn't.

There's plenty they could do to distance themselves from the MCU. But that isn't their goal.

Weird because I didn't. Most complaints I remember were QTE concerns. Insomniac suit is fine anyway. Already plenty of people cosplaying it. Even got referenced in Spider-Verse. Don't see that happening here.
