Like, the deep sea might be cool if there were Cthulhu/Clover/Godzilla/etc type monsters, or sunken continents with artifacts or remnants of ancient civilizations. There's still probably thousands of undiscovered species down there, but after a certain depth there's basically nothing or nothing that would be remarkable. Outer space is just like a bunch of vast nothingness.
