I am I following this right?
They lied about having money from sponsors when they are actually broke and in reponse they have a massive fine and a ban on a potential revenue stream for years? I see a flaw in that plan... --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

I am I following this right? They are extremely not broke. UEFA has rules in place to limit clubs' ability to spend more than they earn in revenue. Man City is owned by the royal family of the UAE, who have basically unlimited resources of their own that they've been pumping into the club, and they've been trying to pass some of that money off as sponsorship revenue generated by the club so as to get around the rules. The rule has more to do with competitive balance than a fear of these richer clubs going broke. --- kin to all that throbs ... Copied to Clipboard!

They'll be fine. Two year ban is just so they can barter it down to one year.
And they may well even appeal that down to a one window transfer embargo. That said, I'm glad UEFA have taken a stand. --- - God bless, downtime and TheSlinja. YNWA GameFAQs' Favourite Sons. - Official Barman Of Champion Pub ... Copied to Clipboard!
