Completely enjoyed it. Loved the references, can't believe they had the fucking 'sanic' drawing in the movie. The Green Hill Zone music at the end, Jim Carrey being the weirdo.

This movie is such an odd mixture of my childhood that I dunno. I got weirdly nostaglicly emotional over the animated Genesis sprite credits, the Tails mid credit surprise, Jim Carrey being the Jim Carrey I loved watching as a kid.

Only thing I didn't like was the weird-ass lore they made for Sonic's childhood and... mother owl... thing, and I like how they made Sonic having rings that makes sense for a movie, but also is kinda weird.

Though the creatures going after the owl looked a lot like a sonic Echidna, but that might be me reading too much into it...

I hope this movie does fantastic and I hope they make another.

Anyway. I enjoyed the shit outta it

Jim Carrey was the perfect cast for Robotnik, but I don't think he 'carries' the whole movie. Sonic and James Marsden work well together (wtf is that sentence I just wrote) and are fine as well.

I'm not a Sonic fan or particularly interested in this movie, but I appreciate they respected the fans enough to change the nightmare of a design they originally had for Sonic.

Did you guys notice at the end that he started walking like the death egg robot?

Yeah, I would definitely consider it to be a fun movie. It leans more toward being for kids imo, but could still be enjoyed by anyone quite easily. It was entertaining, some of the scenes were a treat (like the times when Sonic is moving so fast the perception of time slows down around him).

Overall they did a lot better with the story than I was expecting. Video games as we know (especially classic ones) don't really give you a lot to work with, so it can go either way. Take the SMB movie for example. We have a plumber dude that jumps on turtles and his mortal enemy is a dinosaur or some shit. Also, mushrooms. So. Many. Mushrooms.

With the Sonic movie, the story was actually dece though. They did well with what they had to work with, and the Easter eggs sprinkled throughout were nice.

This part, I wouldnt mind going to do other one, because it was so much fun, first of all. And you know, it was a real challenge to try to convince people that I have a triple digit IQ. There is so much room, Robotnik has not reached his apotheosis.

I refuse to see it in the movie because why would you support a studio that fires its animators after they change the design for the better? It's almost a meme now about how bad animators are taken advantage of in the film industry.

it was a decent movie. Jim Carrey definitely stole the show with robotnik. Unfortunately I had to sit with an awful crowd. The guy next to me had awful BO and he kept laughing and talking loudly every other minute. So fucking abnoxious.

Like you know people who don't go to the movies once a year right away.. But movie etiquette should be common sense.

Went to see it today, but it was partly ruined because of some dumb bitch that decided to bring her 7 kids to see it. 2 of them were babies and cried on and off the entire movie. 3 other kids kept talking loudly and fighting over a fucking toy. The other 2 were mostly quiet but kept going on their phones. the mother was probably the worst because, 1. She had the bright idea to bring this circus in the first place. 2. She did nothing to stop any of it, or be courteous and leave. 3. She was loudly popping on gum and making grunting noises the entire movie (like loud obnoxious grunting.). 4. She was on her phone the ENTIRE time, naturally the brightness was maxed out and notification volume and media volume were cranked all the way up.

It was a fucking mess. Of course the theater staff didnt give a fuck to try and remove her or tell her to fucking stop, because it would have turned into a fiasco of her yelling and threatening and becoming even more of a disruption. You could just tell.

Sucks that you guys had a shitty viewing experience because of the audience. That's one of the reasons I honestly just wait to watch most movies at home (the other main one being the obnoxiously high prices for movies and snacks that are "just okay.")

My girlfriend and I pretty much lucked out because the showing at our theater was at 4:10. Not really enough time for kids that just got off school to get there, and a bit earlier than most people get off work. So there wasn't too many people there, a few families but thankfully the kids were older (maybe like 7-10) or more well behaved. They basically just laughed at the funny parts, didn't make a fuss the rest of the time.
