Are getting younger.

At some point I'm going to see Han Solo as a 'kid' and that's going to bother the fuck out of me.

I kinda see Luke that way, but he was always supposed to be young/niave so that's not as bad. But when like a villain or somebody who is supposed to seem intimidating is like 5-10 years younger than you it ruins the movie. And my brain sometimes doesn't let me see them as I did before.

Why can't I keep relating to the very young characters if that's what I want to do? Why does my brain fight me on that?

I would prefer to not say specifically, but not that old, Still old enough to be older than the young adult heroes/villains in movies I saw since I was a child.

The characters get younger but the actors don't. Look how damn old Harrison Ford looks today. You might be getting older but he's living proof we all have a way to go. (Even if he still looks pretty good for his age)

I should go.

It'll change your perspective on a lot of things. A lot of my friends are younger than I am, so my viewpoint skews young for my age, but still-- you'll re-assess things. Some villains aren't scary because they're powerful, it's because they're young, stupid, and unpredictable. Which is more in line with the "villains" I've met IRL, so the archetype doesn't really lose any teeth.

Right, it's more the experience of being distracted rewatching some of my favorite movies because a character who used to be older than me now seems different after a few years.

It's like when you were in grade school and highschoolers looked like these grow up people and then in college they seem like babies

You seemed fine saying how old you were not too long ago. What changed that suddenly made you ashamed of that?

I was never fine saying it, I think other people maybe said my age in a topic, or something. It's always really really really bothered me to talk about it, recently I've made a point to stand up for myself more and not feel pressured into saying it.

I was so pissed off today, I had to call my doctor, my bank, my cell phone company, and register to a rewards program at a local movie theater I went to today, literally every damn one of them asked me for my birthday. It's quite frustrating.

I 100% seriously would rather tell people my income, sexual history, and weight than tell people my age/birthday.

Enjoy the feeling of being too old to be a JRPG protagonist and being the old man in his late 20s or 30s.

Yeah, shit like that. Maybe I still want to watch Spongebob and enjoy it the same way where you relate with Spongebob and not squidward. If that's what I want to do sometimes I should be able to but my brain doesn't let me.

I work 15-20hr a week at 26 dollars an hour, I'm a virgin, and while I'd much rather say my weight than age, it's not like I fucking love telling people my weight, so I'll omit it because I feel like it will distract from things.

I... don't understand that at all. Is it because you think you're not anywhere near you should be at your age? Cause it's way easier for someone to judge based off the other stuff you listed than just when your parents decided to fuck.

I can change my income, I can change my weight, I cannot change my age and the shame I feel obligated to have for it. And the dreams that are kinda by mandatory cultural definition dead because of my age I cannot change, because I cannot change my age.

I'm not ashamed of my birth year or something like that but rather with that information anybody can figure out my age and when people know your age they put you in a box, a box that limits what they think you can be. And when all of the world puts you in that box, those limits become real, and you can't change that shame or those limits because you can't change your age.
