Theres actually quite a few videos online where individuals decide to post an Instagram video or whatever, where they show off TONS of 100 dollar bills... only to post another video a day or two later, crying about the fact that they were assaulted and robbed in their home.

Its crazy, huh?

If by crazy you mean "incredibly stupid", then yes. It's really crazy.

In this case the dude posted his address, so thats how we know. But in those other cases I mentioned, the person didnt post it. So how were their addresses found?

Perhaps it was a real life friend that saw them post the video, and sent folks for the money.

Social media is a gold mine for casing a joint remotely since people post pictures of the nice things they own, with more nice things in the background, and they post things like when they're leaving the house or on vacation. Also, not all sites scrub metadata from pictures by default and most people don't realize how much information is in the EXIF data of a picture. It's also not terribly hard to find out where famous, semifamous, or even d-listers live.

Hell, a dealer I used to know back home got his safe jacked because he let everyone know he was going to be out of town for a number of weeks, and that was almost a decade ago. People don't think.

I don't exactly need your street address if I have a picture you took flossing with a $45k watch by your poolside that has your GPS coordinates embedded in it. I know enough to know where that picture was taken to within 10 feet or so.

Download a metadata/EXIF viewer-editor app and just throw a few random pictures from your phone or computer at it. It's a real eye opener.
