By the DNC, in order to consolidate the "establishment" (aka not Bernie) vote on Super Tuesday.

If I was a Bernie supporter I'd be pissed.

Unlikely. Historically, nothing like this has ever happened lol there's also that article going around about Biden and Obama 3 way calling Buttigieg the day before he dropped out.

Logically, if that were the case there would be no reason to quit right before super Tuesday, after you've spent all that money and time campaigning. They did all the work, might as well see how they do in the election.

Today is a historic day where America's elites publicly executed Bernie Sanders's chance at presidency and with him the entire Progressive movement it's not about beating Trump they don't care about losing to him, it's about protecting the wealthy's money at all costs. People think AOC could be the next champion but it's a false hope. No progressiveness, no socialism ever in America. Never ever if thy don't like it they are free to form a 3rd party that will never get anywhere or move to any other socialist country

I dont understand what Im supposed to be mad about when a group of similar politicians consolidates their support behind one of them for the sake of electoral politics.

You don't see why you should be mad that moderates chose to back arguably the weakest moderate running prior to the largest day in the primary, invalidating thousands of votes, just to block Bernie Sanders from progressing? Or how about the only other "progressive" running is also actively working against the only progressive with a chance at winning?

There's plenty of reasons to be upset by this.

Everyone should have expected this. I sure did. But you don't understand why it's disappointing to people, really?
"For the sake of electoral politics"? What does that mean?
I've heard this perspective from others in the primary topic as well and it seems to imply that Klobuchar, Buttigieg et al are consolidating support behind a rival because of what they believe in. They're "similar politicians" with values that really deeply matter to them and are just SO against people having healthcare and free college that they're willing to put aside their personal ambitions and team up. Bullshit. With one exception, all of these people's positions change as carelessly as the wind, to respond to either political opportunity of the time or the behest of the powerful interests to which they're beholden. Which is exactly all that's happened here. They answer to the truly powerful. So yeah, no one should be shocked by how this played out but nobody sure has to fucking like it either. Especially now that there's actually someone on the national stage with a shred of integrity. Maybe people are starting to realize they don't need to take this kind of triangulating, purely self-serving crap from their leaders, every single time.

I mean, I understand why it upsets people but only in the sense that it hurts the chances of the person they want to win. I mean Sanders fans (correctly) want Warren to drop out for the exact same reason. The big difference is that Sanders is likable and the democratic establishment isn't. It does suck they're so out of touch, but it doesn't bother me more than any of the other roadblocks and stupid shit they've done and said about Bernie

Bernie supporters do need to accept that the only reason he has been so successful so far is because the playing field has been so wide, with all of the traditional DNC voters being split between half a dozen or more candidates.

As essentially the sole contrarian, he basically gets all anti-establishment votes. Which are statistically the minority. But that becomes the majority when the rest of the votes are split between so many people.

Both were the surprises of early state primaries and out-performed Biden in all but SC. Both quit just before the single biggest day of the primary season.

To me its blatant as fuck the elites pulled some strings to help ensure a Biden victory. I dont know if Pete and Amy were paid off or threatened but something happened behind the scenes to make them pull out.

It's going to be close whether it's Biden or Sanders but I see Trump winning on the electoral again. Hopefully in 4 years we can fossilize these dinosaurs on both sides forever and see some younger candidates that actually have a shot.

The moderates chose to back the candidate with the best shot electorally. Buttigieg and Klobuchar has no viable path to the nomination, so they threw their support behind the candidate who closest to their views and has an actual chance to win this thing. Thats how electoral politics work. Youre using a double standard if you want Warren to drop out and endorse Sanders but dont like Buttigieg and Klobuchar dropping out to endorse Biden. I, personally, think that Warren should drop out and endorse Sanders, but thats why Im not against Buttigieg and Klobuchar dropping out to endorse Biden. Because Im not a hypocrite. I dont think Bernie deserves the nomination just for being Bernie and I think that if he cant get more votes than Biden then he doesnt deserve the nomination. I think Joe Biden is a shitty choice to support, but I dont believe that I should be the sole deciding factor.

It's definitely not a double standard because all parties, including Warren, have came out and said that whatever strategy they have adopted was solely to stunt Bernie. You should be upset by that. You should be upset that a so called progressive would do this in order to benefit corporate interests instead of progressing her supposed agenda. You should be upset that the strongest candidate for the general is being smothered by candidates backed by billionaires.
