I'd rather let a handful of freeloaders get a free ride than deprive people of help they need. And I'm a disabled person who doesn't take any assistance. I don't care that there are able-bodied people taking advantage and living on scraps because they don't want to work.

The other side of that, is that we need to accept that if we want safety nets and free stuff, "my tax dollars" is where the funding is going to come from. Insisting that Richie McMoneypants pay for it all will lead to exactly the situation above, as Mr. McMoneypants can actually afford to do so.
