Sometimes just fucking with something fixes it though tbh, even if you dont know what youre doing. Thats more related to computers and stuff like that, not so much cars, though.

For what its worth, there are no guarantees the professionals would do it right. Within the past month, I had professionals fuck up my car twice. On a routine oil change, they carelessly jammed the skid plate back into place such that it was dangling and scraping on things frequently until I brought it back to get it fixed. After that, I went to Safelite to get a couple windshield chips dealt with, and they cracked the windshield, so now I need a whole new one.

We have an awesome mechanic tbh. Theyll fix little things on our car sometimes and not even charge us for it (we always leave like at least $20 for a tip though when dey do dat).

he said i need a new power steering pump. 270 for the unit, 25 for the power steering fluid, and labor and tax.

My mechanic said that once, but then once he flushed the old fluid out and added the new fluid he figured he'd test it out and it worked perfectly so just charged me for the fluid.

Have them try that first.

Don't ever fix anything unless you have a certification. I don't even change the fucking light bulbs at my house. It's an electricians job. I don't wanna get shocked and my heart stops.

well he fixed it. though i dont think he flushed the power steering fluid. its still dark... unless he put in a dark fluid.. which.. i thought it was clear from my research.

i dont feel like changing it. maybe ill change it in a couple months.

I won't even climb a ladder. I also believe if you're higher than 3 or 4 feet you legally need a harness. No thanks. I like being flat on the ground. I'm not a bird.
