I'm not an incel, but that is a dumb commercial.

A lot of car commercials are dumb but do not get downvoted into oblivion.

Like those Buick commercials "guhh, even though its got the buick logo on the vehicle it CANT POSSIBLY be a buick because it no longer looks like grandmas car and instead like every other car on the road"

though i dont care about this nissan ad really.

I have a soft spot for Nissan because my first two cars were a 1998 Sentra and a 1997 Sentra. No, not a lot of power, nothing to really wow people, but I loved how basic it was. very lightweight, very compact without being a smart/kei car, everything was very intuitive. When I get rich my "dont wanna be seen in a Rolls" daily driver will actually be a 100% factory restored 90s Nissan Sentra.

That... was a terrible commercial. Even removing the political stuff it's just bad. Boring and bland. Then the political stuff... Seriously? Firstly we don't know why he's holding on her promotion, we're just to assume it's sexism. Then she overcomes it by going for a drive in a car? The frick? It just feels confused and like they wanted to try and make a political message without actually committing to it.

It is a common tactic used in ads for people to feel more confident after using said product. A car making somebody more confident in an ad isn't much different than a shave razor making a man more confident, or whatever. There is the thin tie in to sexism, but without that, you have a pretty average car ad, to the point where if we're talking about how bland and boring this car ad is, we may as well bring in the majority of them for scrutiny.

The commercial was just fine.

I know. I'm just saying that it's a stupid thing to overcome (implied) sexism with a CAR RIDE. She doesn't even drive the car, she's a freaking passenger in the ride! At least make it Brie giving her the car and explaining the features as they drive.

I will not argue weather the commercial is dumb or not, because, well, it kinda is.

This is curing the involuntary portion because it's insufferable on every point.

Two things

1) Nissan has been way behind Subaru and Toyota in recent years. Their vehicles look nice but are unreliable. I'd like my next car to be a Subaru Impreza (or Legacy if I could save a bit longer)

2) Shaming men for being "creepy" or "incels" is only making these problems worse. Every guy who is sensitive, shy, or socially awkward is automatically labeled an incel nowadays. If you don't want men like this to be pissed off at society, stop proving them right be throwing these terms around all the time.

Pretty dumb commercial but I can't remember the last car commercial that was halfway decent. At least they stopped making those dumb Buick commercials with Matthew McConaughey trying to be all deep and thoughtful.

It MIGHT have a lot less to do with which actress is in it than it does with the fact that it's incredibly heavy-handed propaganda.

I can guarantee you that incels were a minority of people who down voted some nissan commercial.

Like how likely do you really think the majority of the downvotes are from people who have dedicated their life to shunning any sort of intimate relationship with women?

Its just not logically and mathematically possible, the probability of this scenario is simply very unlikely.

I think you just dont want to admit that normal average people saw and disliked the message behind the commercial.

Wife bought a new Subaru Crosstrek just a few months ago and she loves it. Got the 6 speed manual in the highest model it was available in. Thing is a beast in the snow. The only issue we have with it is that's it's just too slow. Could use like 40-50 more HP. But otherwise great vehicle.

What does it matter if Brie Larson is in it or not?
