for the SNES versions I like ToM more. more characters and better gameplay.

Trials is definitely better, but I think Secret is worth playing, warts and all. Secret of Evermore is also worth looking into.

Trials.
Secret of Mana is kinda nice since your loadout is set between fighter/mage/healer, but the ability to equip different weapons is kinda awesome and I miss that in Trials. But the combat and unit/party customization in Trials is better imo. --- Remember that I won't rest, 'til we share the same tense Just know, to me, you're better late than never again. ...
