I read a Business Insider article a while back where employees revealed that upper corporate management supposedly had no idea that full digital downloads even existed until after the PS4 and Xbox One launched.

I understand brick and mortar stores aren't doing as hot, but in Gamestop's case, they are ludicrously more out of touch and disorganized compared to others.

Pretty much, yeah. Hopefully Reggie gets a nice multi-million dollar compensation for when the Gamestop ship sinks all the way down. Granted, he doesn't start till April 20th and Gamestop might be filing for bankruptcy before that if enough of their stores are legally forced to shutdown.

They've suspended all trade-in and trade-in promos across the entire company (like, including the international stores).

This is actually kind of nuts. I know they reported they had $1.6B in *actual* cash last year (which was actually an insane amount considering a company like Walmart only had ~$9.5B in their last report), so not sure how much that's fallen this year because I don't think their Form 10-K is out yet.

I don't think closing for two weeks would put them out of business, but they're clearly being short-sighted and trying to cash in on this.
